Mobile, powerful, adaptable and efficient
A mobile lathe system for rolling stock. The first and only one in Italy, it was purchased by GCF at the start of 2018 to carry out maintenance work on the over 800 rolling stock in the fleet of high efficiency machinery and trains used for superstructure work, track renewal and electrification.
Its powerful motor ensures that the system can be moved along the rails and remotely controlled. Its 18 tonne weight guarantees site stability and precise machining.
The machine, which has a computer onboard, can pre-calibrate profiling sets and provide machining sheets for every axle that undergoes lathing. The mobile lathe can adapt to different types of rolling stock and has a high level of efficiency. It is a machine that can improve scheduled maintenance on rolling stock by lowering costs and making the task easier.
Lifting system
Trains and rolling stock can be lifted 2 metres off the ground by a powerful system consisting of eight lifting columns which can be perfectly controlled and synchronized by a mobile control unit. It has a total lifting capacity of 280 tonnes.
